Independent contract for Hummingbird Interactive
This was a side contract I took on for Hummingbird Interactive. I completed development on the digital portion of the immersive experience.
Last One Standing is an experience where one person enters a room and makes a phone call. On the phone they have a conversation with an actor playing as the sole survivor of a real-life tragedy. After the call, they write or draw a message on a tablet to reflect on their experience.

Development
I joined this project partway to its completion, as the original developer had to drop out. I worked with the project lead throughout development, keeping up-to-date on requirements and progress.
The goal for the app was to have users draw something and have it uploaded to a website. As a large portion of the app’s logistics was already functional, my main task was the drawing, screenshotting, and uploading. I quickly completed most of the tasks and also added polish to the whole experience.
As for uploading the drawings to a website, I evaluated a few different options. We decided to use Dropbox to sync the saved images to the cloud, and a WordPress app to display those images on the site. This solution, while not built into the app, provided a quick, simple, and effective application.
Showtime!
While Last One Standing had a previous showing, the show using the app I helped develop had its first showing in Orlando, Florida in May of 2024. The audience received it well, calling it “Utterly Unique” and a “wonderful experience”.
