Sheridan College Capstone Project

The Nine Tales is the capstone project my team and I did in our final year at Sheridan College. This capstone project’s goal was to emulate working at a studio and develop a prototype in two semesters (roughly 8 months).

I was the lead developer on the project. My role included developing game systems and mechanics, and managing the project structure. I was also the go-to for technical support, especially when it came to Git.

Development

There were 8 of us working on The Nine Tales, plus 6 more creating and implementing audio.

I took the lead by developing core systems for the game, working closely with artists and our narrative designer to prototype and implement mechanics and systems to build our desired experience. We developed much of the game, but also used plugins to speed up the process where possible.

I also worked closely with the audio team to ensure implementation went as smoothly as possible. We had some difficulty getting Wwise to work properly with other plugins, but I was able to figure it out.

In all, it was a great experience where we took on an ambitious challenge. I learned a lot about teamwork and communication.
